    Hi Andrei, loved the tips! I'm wondering if you could share how you took the overhead food shots on location? Did you go hand held on a stepladder, or tripod with extension arm maybe? I have trouble getting height with the 50mm and have never shot outside of my studio, nerves get the better of me.

    Hello, when selling twilight photos how many of these do you recommend to deliver?

    • @AndreiRestrepo

      I typically deliver at least 4-5 twilight photos. Maybe 1-2 of the front, 1-2 of the back, and a detail shot or two since typically we do real twilights for homes with pools. Thanks for watching!

    What focal length do you use when filming an agent vertically? Thanks for the great video.

    • @AndreiRestrepo
      @AndreiRestrepo 6 днів тому

      Still the same focal length I would horizontally, around 24-35mm! But also super wide having the agent fully on screen like 15-16mm is becoming pretty popular and actually looks pretty well shot vertically too on socials. Thanks for watching!

    Wonderful video, you've convinced me to take the plunge on this camera. Quick question though! On your gimbal rig, I noticed you have a Vmount battery attached. • @AndreiRestrepo
      @AndreiRestrepo 6 днів тому

      Nice! That’s probably one of the higher end mirrorless cameras by canon I never really looked into. I bet it’s a beast though! Just wish all their cameras had the same video mode as the R5C. Tough to go back getting used to having waveform, false color, and all the cinema settings

  • @amckinney14
    @amckinney14 9 днів тому

    So you use the 15-35 for photos, what kens is attached to your camera for videos when you have it on the gimbal? Currently I have the Mark IV and shoot with a 70-200 for all my headshots but I need a second camera for events and second shooters, and I'm hoping to start doing more videography in the future. So I think this would be the perfect blend to complement my current setup.

    • @AndreiRestrepo
      @AndreiRestrepo 8 днів тому

      Hey there! I use the 15-35 for photos, and most of my video work! Having a wider focal length on a gimbal typically works best. Nice, I used to have a 5k mark iv, on of my favorite photo cams ever. If I’m being honest, I think this could actually be overkill or have a bit of a learning curve if you were to hand this off to a second shooter, even if they’re familiar with canon. Unless they are familiar with the canon cinema line, operating it could be quite difficult for them at first. For something like you’re talking about, I’d actually look at the R5, or the R6 mark ii. I have the r6 mark ii as my primary photo camera and b cam for video, and it’s great for that. And trust me, once you get a chance to use the newest AF capabilities in the new mirrorless line, it’ll be hard to go back to the 5d4, it’s next level! I’d say the R5C are for those that are wanting to deep dive into video and possibly looking to rig this out since you need battery solutions and stuff like that. Thanks for watching!

    • @AndreiRestrepo
      @AndreiRestrepo 10 днів тому

      Honestly if you have a newer phone with a wide angle lens, I’d get started with that! Just need a mobile gimbal like a DJI Osmo for example. Other than that, an extra level preowned Sony or canon mirrorless camera would be a good start. But you are probably still looking at $1000ish give or take investment.

    What about vignetting on the RF 15-35 F2.8 ? I have a normal KF Concept ND filter, and each time I use it, I end up with vignette sadly. I mean when using at 15mm.

    • @AndreiRestrepo
      @AndreiRestrepo 11 днів тому

      I feel you on that! Almost impossible to not get any vignetting at 15mm with VND filters. But, the great thing about using a fixed ND bigger than the lens, is you won't get any really! Almost like having built in ND on a cinema camera. But if you use the CPL + ND, you still might see some vignetting too. Just hard at such wide focal lengths. Thanks for watching!

      Great question !! I think either camera can do both, really well. But for an easier workflow and convenience, I'd pick the R6 Mark II. For most of my career I've always had only one camera, and for the time I had only the R6 mark ii, it could do it all! I just came to the point where I would do shoots where I needed a second body and it became easier to have one camera rigged for video, and the other for photo. I'd pick the R6 mark ii to do it all because of the sensor stabilization that's amazing for photos, the way better battery life is a big reason for both photo & video, and a few other perks. Now, that's not to say that the R5C can't do both because it obviously can, but you need an external better solution for video shoots, no IBIS, and a bit bigger body than the R6 ii. So for one camera solution, I'd say the R6 mark ii would be best. Thanks for watching!

      I would for RE video work, it' looks great! The only other thing to consider is a zoom lens where you aren't just fixed at 12mm. Depends on if you also shoot other type of work where I zoom lens would be more valuable. Thanks for watching!

    So for the tests he enabled crop sensor mode on the R6 and then you say they looked just as good? But in crop mode you are throwing away a lot of pixels from the R6 thus negating any IQ gains the R6 would give you in the first place. hope i am understanding this wront

    • @AndreiRestrepo
      @AndreiRestrepo 13 днів тому

      Yeah, I did do that for a few tests! You're right on what you said, but since they're different size sensors, it's hard to compare in the first place. I actually now use an R6 Mark ii & R5C. The r6 mark ii has gotten few updates and it's a great hybrid camera!

    My question to you, Andrei, is this for someone starting out in real estate photography. How did you construct your real estate business model (or matrix)? My dream work day is to only work within a particular county (after all, I lack the superhuman power of the Flash). So I will need a business plan that keeps me close to what I promised to my clients expectations. So for instance, a photoshoot is done on Monday and it's promised that shoots will be delivered 2 business days out on Wednesday; while more photos are taken for a different client with their shoots delivered on Thursday, and so forth? How do you stay organized?

    • @AndreiRestrepo
      @AndreiRestrepo 16 днів тому

      Hey! Bunch of good questions here. It definitely didn't happen overnight, 3 years in my actual business model, and it's finally a pretty well established business model! Haha. When I first started, I just did my best to connect with local realtors through any connections I had, produce the best work I could, and repeat over and over again. For organization like that, I recommend using a real estate based CRM. We use Aryeo where clients can request and book shoots and everything else you need. After you get to the point where you can't handle it all like I am, you start to bring on shooters, editors, admins, and so on to help keep running your business! You should also think about joining my community! being able to chat with other RE shooters just starting out or running their own business could be a huge help for you. I use the conversion LUTS by Phantom LUTS! Seriously haven't come across any other LUTS as good as these. Their camera color specific and aimed to replicate ARRI color science. Better colors and highlight roll off than the standard canon ones IMO. But yeah I use their CLOG3 neutral for almost all of my work and they have some stylized ones too. Hi Andrei I'd like to see if you can expand on something. I am using the per photo pricing method with three packages - base, pro, premium. As you upgrade it includes more services. However, I leave room for add-ons at each level. I am thinking about going to the square footage model, but if I have a base price for each level, how do I handle the add-on services for each level. The add-ons will increase the AOV.

    • @AndreiRestrepo
      @AndreiRestrepo 18 днів тому

      Hey William! Good question. I would think just having base prices for each sqft tier, and the same add on's available for each one. The value will go up, the bigger the property and then the add on's. For example tier one 0-1999 sqft $250. But then add on's available like drone, video, virtual tour, etc. And she for tier 2 listing, 2000-2999 sqft. I think crunching some numbers with how you currently have it set up would be best if switching the model would work! Thanks for watching !

    • @AndreiRestrepo

      Do you use a tripod? For night shots I typically try to still keep it at f/6.3 and up, that way the edged are still sharp. If anything I'll also not let my shutter go down too slow and raise the iso a bit!

      You're still talking about photos right? Asking since you're saying you have an fx3 and it's a cinema cam! but yeah typically for photos on a tripod, I want go slower than a second or two, but if there's not wind then I'll let the shutter be 5-7 sec long. But for video, I would film everything at night at 12,800 iso since that's the second native iso for that cam!

One side of the scan is black, but when you upload it to be processed, that first scan came back complete white out and totally unusable.
